Belated thanks for your vote in the “guess what” contest. As you can see, the correct answer was Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Also, many thanks from “the Stowaway!”

Thanks for your vote (and comment) in the "travel photo" contest....

Yes... The photo was too dark. I have just bought a new fancy-schmancy monitor and, whereas my old one was way too dark and I was overcom[ensating and horribly overexposing my images, this time I second-guessed what I was seeing on the screen and over-compensated the other other way.

Lesson learned!

Thanks for your vote. You're right unfortunately. I shouldn't have used digital zoom. To get the picture in focus I had to move away and zoom right up close using first optical then digital zoom. I should've ditched the digital and cropped it on the pc.

Taken better ones since then but they arn't 'travels' so...

And yes, I know one of the butterflies is out of focus =/ I forgot to change to macro in the heat of the moment!

Thanks for the vote in the travel contest, but more importantly for the message about the shot! You are 100% correct - when I blow the shot up very little was in REAL sharp focus - I need to turn that darn autofocus off more! It doesn't do well when it see's so much in the frame with a shallow DOF.

Thanks again!

thank you for your vote on my eclips picture, yes the eclips was 100%. I did try to convert to monochrome, but colour was better. In real life, there is also some funny purple colours at the edge of the eclips, or do my eyes have bad lenzes :)
To see my other pictures of the eclips look at this album.
